While the dahlias were showing off, the sunflowers, sown from last year’s crop, made a nice backdrop to the multicolored foreground. The vegetable gardens were flourishing and harvests began with potatoes, then onions. Because of commitments in the fall I cleared an area as soon as the fruits were harvested, planning to shut down my part of the garden by the end of September. So this was the peak of my garden’s growth.
